As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) you will provide an excellent care to our residents at mecwacare O’Mara House, a 67 – bed facility. Your compassionate personality and positive attitude will assist you in providing optimal level of dignity, comfort, and quality of life for our care recipients. Joining the team at O’Mara House you will have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and supportive team.
What you bring:
• Certificate III in Aged Care or Certificate III in Individual Support.
• NDIS Check is essential.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in Aged Care.
• Availability to work AM and PM shifts weekday and weekends.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to older people and their families.
• Computer literacy
• Ability to understand and implement resident care plans.
• Ability to identify problems and a clear understanding of when to alert immediate supervisors.
• Demonstrated time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Pro-active and dedicated approach to deliver best practice care.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
• Able to demonstrate flexibility to workplace demands and a teamwork attitude.
Desirable:
• Experience working with Dementia and residents with Behavior Support Plans
